Casa Proserpina in San Miguel de Allende

Hadley O'Regan, director and creator of the new image of Casa Proserpina tells us: “In Greek mythology, the return of the goddess Persephone (or “Proserpina”, in her Roman form) to the surface of the earth from the gloomy the underworld brought spring, a season of rejuvenation and rebirth. San Miguel de Allende's Casa Proserpina is aptly named in honor of Persephone, as this 18th-century colonial building has been reborn as a luxurious vacation destination.

The Centro section of Allende, Casa Proserpina, had been on the market for just one day when Hadley’s ex-husband first walked through its doors. After feeling an immediate connection to the property’s rich 300-year history, he made an offer and bought it.

While planning the home's redesign, Hadley was inspired by the vibrant color palette and youthful energy of spring. In honor of San Miguel de Allende's long and rich history of local art, she and Ana Ramírez, owner of San Miguel Interiors, chose only custom-designed handmade furniture, lighting, art and accessories for Casa Proserpina.

Outdoor spaces with lush gardens, charming courtyards and picturesque rooftop terraces provide perfect venues for al fresco meals and festive gatherings.
